About the Opportunity

As a Project Controls Manager, you will be accountable for the provision of effective project controls for the Collins Sustainment (CCSM) business unit, located in Osborne, South Australia. You will work closely with the CCSM Leadership Team, leading the development of project controls processes and procedures to ensure projects are planned, progressed, managed, monitored, and executed within schedule and cost constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Establish standards, templates, and processes for the management of CCSM Programs and Projects of work.
  • Lead and develop a team of Project Controls Analysts, driving engagement and performance.
  • Plan and schedule CCSM programs, projects and activities.
  • Develop and manage cost estimates for CCSM projects.
  • Provide progress and project health metric reporting.
  • Implement earned value management (EVM) and baseline change management.
  • Ensure consistent schedule and cost data flow between ASC’s corporate systems.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects within the PMO and CCSM business units.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Project Controls, Cost Control, Cost Estimating, and Project Planning & Scheduling, ideally in the defence sector.
  • High-level experience with managing teams and driving performance and activity engagement (essential).
  • Comfortable working within structured processes while seeking opportunities for innovation.
  • Agile management knowledge and a curious, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective implementation and execution of Earned Value Management (EVM) and AS 4817-2006 Standards.
  • Experience with training and mentoring staff in Project Controls methods.
  • Experience with COBRA (for EVM), Primavera P6 or Open Plan Professional (for Scheduling), Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI (desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Autonomous, goal-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Certifications

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
