Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) seeks a highly capable quantitative scientist to advance MIND-MAP by developing mathematical and computational tools for 3D microglia morphology analysis. You will work with international partners to bridge theory and experiment in neuroscience.

Requirements include a PhD near completion in a quantitative field, strong modeling and computing skills, and proficiency in Python/MATLAB/C++.

Qualifikationen

• PhD (or near completion) in a quantitative field with applications to biology and neuroscience.
• Strong background in mathematical modeling, scientific computing, image analysis, ML, geometry or topology.
• Demonstration of innovative results and good communication skills are essential.
• Experience writing maintainable scientific software (Python, MATLAB, and/or C++).
• Experience with GitHub and version control is desired.

Aufgaben

• Develop novel mathematical and computational methods for multidimensional biological image data, including segmentation, shape analysis, dynamics, and statistical modeling.
• Collaborate with experimental neuroscientists to apply quantitative approaches to biological questions.
