Zusammenfassung

The University of Vienna is seeking a University Assistant postdoctoral researcher in the area of Media and Technology within the Philosophy of Media and Technology group. You will engage in research, teaching, and administrative tasks in a vibrant international team led by Prof. Mark Coeckelbergh.

You are expected to publish in peer‑reviewed journals, participate in workshops, and cooperate on grant proposals while contributing to BA/MA programs and mentoring students.

Qualifikationen

• Ph.D. in philosophy and a focus on philosophy of technology, including ethics of AI.
• Promising publication track record and high-level research potential.
• Excellent command of English (C2) and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to develop German language skills.

Aufgaben

• Produce excellent research in philosophy.
• Teach within BA/MA philosophy programs as required by the collective bargaining agreement.
• Collaborate with Prof. Mark Coeckelbergh on research and grant proposals.
• Apply for third-party funding and prepare habilitation if beneficial.
• Supervise students in areas of competence.
• Participate in evaluation and quality assurance.
• Take on administrative and organizational tasks.
