Herold is seeking a capable software developer to maintain, develop, and optimize internal web applications in a Vienna team. You will implement backend solutions and minor frontend tasks, while also creating technical documentation and contributing to QA processes.

The role supports up to five remote days per week, with a 38.5-hour workweek and a gross monthly salary of €3,500, potentially higher depending on qualifications and experience. Strong English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable IT/development qualification.
• Experience with JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, databases and version control.
• Knowledge of Zend Framework v1/v2 and Laravel; frontend tech like React and jQuery is advantageous.

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Development: You maintain, develop, and improve internal web applications, optimize interfaces, and ensure reliable system operation.
• Documentation: You create and maintain technical documentation.
• Software Systems: You develop and optimize software systems for products and internal management tools independently. You onboard new software projects and conceptualize software solutions based on given tasks.
• Programming: You program backend solutions based and minor frontend changes on provided tasks.
• Quality Assurance: You analyze and resolve software errors and proactively review and address documented software issues or similar development-related entries. You perform basic quality assurance of code and functionalities provided, participate in code reviews, and write and maintain automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability. You contribute to the monitoring infrastructure for better application operation oversight (error logs, error aggregation, metrics).

Your Profile:

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable IT/development qualification.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, related database systems, version control tools and PHP frameworks. Knowledge of frameworks such as Zend Framework Version 1.1 and 2 and Laravel, as well as Frontend technologies like React and JQuery is advantageous.
• You should have a good understanding of English (business context). German skills are a good to have, as the systems are in German.

The role is positioned within group.one and you collaborate with colleagues from different offices. Together with your small core team, you are part of a larger development team.

Our offer:

• Salary: The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is € 3.500,-- (incl. an overtime allowance of 20 hours) for 38.5 hours/week. Actual compensation can be above this, depending on qualifications and professional experience.
• Working hours: 38.5 hours a week from Monday - Friday
