A building services company in Austria is seeking a Payroll Lead to oversee payroll operations for approximately 150 employees. This part-time role (0.8 FTE) offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to drive process improvements within a supportive team environment. Ideal candidates will possess at least 5 years of payroll experience, knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, and experience with Employment Hero Payroll and Xero. Impactful Work: Own the end-to-end weekly payroll process for ~150 employees across diverse employment types.
Autonomy & Expertise: Be the system owner for Employment Hero Payroll, ensuring smooth integration with Xero and driving governance and compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes, enhance automation, and champion data integrity.
Collaborative Environment: Work closely with Finance, HR, and Operations to support business performance and employee experience.
Deliver accurate, timely weekly payroll and manage all statutory obligations.
Maintain and optimise Employment Hero Payroll and its integration with Xero.
Provide insights through payroll reporting for labour forecasting, project costing, and compliance.
Ensure adherence to Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, and ATO requirements.
Support WGEA reporting and internal/external audits.
Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience (construction industry experience highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation.
Experience with Employment Hero Payroll and Xero preferred.
High-level Excel and data analysis skills.
Certificate IV in Payroll, HR, Accounting or similar desirable.
Flexible part-time arrangement (0.8 FTE) with Mondays and Tuesdays essential.
