Operations Manager & Freight Coordinator
BTS Freight Solutions is expanding rapidly, and we're looking for a proactive, switched-on all-rounder to join our operations team. This role is perfect for someone who has worked as a freight broker, dispatcher, or transport coordinator and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
You will be quoting, allocating freight, managing carriers, and supporting customers throughout the day. Multi‑tasking and juggling multiple shipments in a fast‑paced environment with deadlines.
This role will initially be work-from-home for the first 6 months, with full support and training provided.
>Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive freight quotes across multiple carriers
- Key focus on interstate movements. LCL & Full loads
- Maintain high communication via phone & email to customers/carriers
- Manage bookings through our Transport Management System
- Allocate freight effectively and maintain real‑time communication with carriers
- Support dispatch and daily load planning
- Handle admin tasks including data entry, paperwork, and invoicing
- Be proactively aware of freight movements, delays, and customer needs
- Assist after hours when required (weekdays only) to ensure smooth operations
- Prioritise safety and above all play your role in the CoR and support others involved
About You
- Background in brokerage, load planning, dispatch, or transport operations
- Minimum 3 years of experience in freight brokerage or transport operations
- Strong numeracy skills — comfortable comparing rates and building quotes
- Highly organised, reliable, and proactive — stays ahead of potential issues
- Strong administrative discipline; invoicing /Compliance experience is a bonus
- Experience with transport management systems (TMS)
- Able to work from home for the first 6 months
- Happy to be contacted after hours on weekdays if something urgent needs attention
