Role Purpose:
The Operations Manager is the key driver of project delivery, team coordination, and customer satisfaction across Steadfast Solar and PowerHub SA. Acting as 2IC to the General Manager, this role ensures the smooth execution of solar and battery installations from sale through to handover, while supporting internal staff, subcontractors, and customers.
This is a high-accountability position suited to someone with leadership experience in solar, electrical, or construction environments, with the ability to manage operations at both strategic and hands-on levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Job Management
- Oversee daily operations for residential and commercial installations
- Maintain install pipeline tracking, scheduling, and job readiness
- Manage compliance submissions (STCs, SAPN, ECOCs, warranties)
- Ensure timely job delivery and high-quality customer handover
2. Customer Experience & Handover
- Oversee welcome calls, document collection, and ongoing customer communication
- Resolve escalated issues and coordinate support/service requests
- Maintain communication standards and satisfaction benchmarks across all active projects
3. Stock & Logistics Management
- Oversee ordering, stock control, and warehouse processes
- Liaise with suppliers and ensure install crews have correct materials
- Track purchase orders, deliveries, and inventory reporting
4. Subcontractor & Staff Coordination
- Manage day-to-day activities of installers and subcontractors
- Oversee job allocations and resolve on-site or scheduling issues
- Assist in staff rostering, coordination, and logistics planning
5. HR Support & Team Culture
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of site staff
- Assist with contractor compliance and documentation
- Promote a strong internal culture of performance, reliability, and safety
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3+ years experience in operations, project delivery, or service coordination
- Experience in solar, electrical, plumbing, construction, or related trades
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams under pressure
- Familiarity with CRM, scheduling, inventory and compliance systems (Zoho experience preferred)
Desirable Qualifications
- CEC / SAA Accreditation, Electrical Licence, or equivalent industry certifications not required however beneficial
- HR, Safety, or Project Management qualifications highly regarded
