What you will do as the Officer (Compliance, Policy, or Project) (APS5):

• Under guidance, provide technical advice to the wider team, branch and Division.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other teams across the ACCC and government.
• Support development of compliance, guidance, policy or project work as directed by senior members of the team.
• Prepare and contribute to key documents and deliver administrative and operational support where required.

In addition, the Senior Officer (Compliance, Policy, or Project) (APS6) will:

• Lead and manage complex tasks within own work portfolio.
• Develop, enhance and implement business processes relevant to the Digital ID Regulator's functions.
• Supervise and develop team members through coaching and performance targets.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority.

About you

The Officer (Compliance, Policy, or Project) (APS5) role requires a demonstrated ability to:

• Under limited guidance undertake research, investigate and analyse complex issues to develop solutions, and make recommendations in line with strategic objectives and legislative requirements.
• Meet deadlines while managing competing tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to present to a range of internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
• Apply knowledge of the relevant Digital ID legislation and policy frameworks or the ability to acquire knowledge quickly.
• Work flexibly and collaboratively and make a positive contribution to team, branch and division outcomes.

In addition, the Senior Officer (Compliance, Policy, or Project) (APS6) role requires a demonstrated ability to:

• Supervise and coach other team members to achieve operational deliverables.
• Work autonomously to achieve quality outcomes and results at pace while identify problems or issues and recommending solutions to mitigate risks of reoccurrence.
• Make recommendations within defined parameters on sound subject matter knowledge and professional judgement.
• Maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The following job specific criteria are also highly desirable for the APS5 and APS6 roles:

• Prior experience or qualifications relevant to regulation including legal qualifications, conducting regulatory investigations, and understanding of cyber security, privacy and fraud control.
