Zusammenfassung

Lam Research in Villach is seeking an Observability & AIOps Engineer to build the intelligence layer for real-time operational health. You will transform telemetry, logs, metrics, traces, and events into actionable insights that improve reliability and speed incident resolution.

You will design end-to-end observability across cloud, infrastructure, and applications, deploy pipelines, and collaborate with SRE, security, and platform teams to optimize signals and automate responses.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 12+ years of related experience, or 8+ years with a Master’s, or 5+ years with a PhD.
• 6+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, SRE, cloud operations, or AIOps.
• Hands-on experience with modern monitoring and observability platforms.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.

• Design and implement enterprise observability strategies across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and platforms.
• Build telemetry pipelines that ingest logs, metrics, traces, events, and topology information.
• Deploy and tune observability platforms to improve operational visibility and service reliability.
• Develop AIOps capabilities including anomaly detection, event correlation, noise reduction, and predictive insights.
• Partner with SRE, platform engineering, cybersecurity, and service operations teams to identify key operational signals.
• Create dashboards, service maps, operational scorecards, and SLO-driven reporting.
• Integrate observability data into AI agents, automation workflows, and operational platforms.
• Establish telemetry standards and observability engineering best practices.
• Drive continuous improvements in MTTD, MTTR, and service health monitoring.

The impact you’ll make

As an Observability & AIOps Engineer, you will build the intelligence layer that enables enterprise systems and AI agents to understand operational health in real time. You will transform telemetry, logs, metrics, traces, and events into actionable operational insights that improve reliability, reduce downtime, and accelerate incident resolution. Your work will establish the foundation for autonomous operations by enabling AI agents to perceive, reason about, and respond to complex system behavior.

What You’ll Do

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline with 12+ years of related experience or 8+ years with a Master’s degree or +5 years with a PhD or equivalant experience
• 6+ years of experience with a B in observability, monitoring, SRE, cloud operations, or AIOps.
• Hands-on experience with modern monitoring and observability platforms.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong understanding of logs, traces, metrics, events, and telemetry pipelines.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing OpenTelemetry.
• Experience working with AI-driven operations platforms.
• Experience with predictive analytics or machine learning for operations.
• Experience supporting SRE organizations and platform teams.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native application architectures.
• Experience integrating observability data into automation platforms and AI solutions.

What We're Offering

This position will be occupied in Villach. It is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group G, depending on Education. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
