Proactive Global is seeking a Network Specialist to join its Mechatronics Development team in Wels, Austria. You will design, configure and standardise control networks across customer systems, bridging networking, automation and industrial technology to ensure robust, reliable communications.

The role involves standardising network architectures, supporting development teams and integrating network hardware like switches and gateways. German and English at C1 are required.

• Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of network architecture
• Document products, network configurations and processes to ensure knowledge is maintained and standards are consistently applied
• Contribute technical ideas to the further development of the company’s product portfolio

The Role

We are currently supporting an international technology company in the search for a Network Specialist to join its Mechatronics Development team in Wels.

In this role, you will take responsibility for the design, configuration and standardisation of control networks across customer systems and the associated network backbone. You will work at the intersection of networking, automation and industrial technology, ensuring that hardware and software communicate reliably and that robust automation networks are established.

You will also contribute to the standardisation and continued development of the company's automation product portfolio, working closely with product development teams on networking and connectivity requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design and configure industrial control networks, including fieldbus systems and IIoT environments

What We're Looking For

• FH, university or HTL qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, IT, Computer Science or a related technical field
• Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment, ideally with a strong focus on industrial networking
• Strong knowledge of PROFINET and Ethernet-based bus systems
• Solid understanding of IIoT protocols and industrial communication technologies
• Good general IT and networking knowledge
• CCNA / Cisco knowledge or certification is advantageous
• Experience within industrial automation, automotive, plant engineering, industrial machinery, manufacturing or robotics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Structured, reliable and methodical approach to work
• German and English at C1 level or above
• Strong German communication skills are particularly important due to the composition of the development team

Industry Background

Experience with autonomous mobile robotics or other advanced robotics systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.
