Job summary

Catalyst Operations & Analytics is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to join our network operations team in Austria. You will support configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise networks under guidance from senior engineers.

You will assist with routing and switching changes, participate in Tier I/II troubleshooting, and help maintain comprehensive network documentation to ensure stable, mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of relevant professional network engineering experience.

Position Summary

Junior Network Engineers support the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure in support of the customer's requirements, working as members of a network operations team under the guidance of more experienced engineers. Junior Network Engineers assist with implementation of routing and switching changes, support Tier I/II troubleshooting of connectivity and performance issues, and help maintain accurate network documentation. Junior Network Engineers are expected to build foundational networking depth while contributing reliably to the stability of mission-critical network operations.

Requirements

US Citizenship and TS/SCI with Polygraph (no exceptions)

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 0-3 years of relevant professional network engineering experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/CAN) configuration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VPN)
• Exposure to network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade)
• Basic understanding of network security principles and secure design practices
• Working toward or holding DoD 8140/8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) certification
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a network operations team
