National Linehaul Manager

We’re seeking a highly skilled, energised and strategic National Linehaul Manager to lead, optimise and drive our national linehaul network. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for delivering efficient, reliable and compliant transport solutions that enhance performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction across our network.

In this role, you’ll oversee the national linehaul function, collaborating with highly skilled state operated linehaul, commercial, fleet, and safety managers to build a high‑performing, sustainable network that supports our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end national linehaul operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Develop and manage linehaul schedules and routes with state operations teams to maximise fleet utilisation, optimise service delivery, control costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Partner with the Commercial team to drive profitability, monitor lane performance, optimise costs, and improve yield and margin outcomes.

Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to support investment in a modern, efficient, and sustainable fleet.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including on‑time performance, fuel usage, cost management, and asset utilisation.

Supported by the national safety team, ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility and safety regulations are met.

Implementation & Network Development

Work with the Commercial team to plan and execute new customer launches and network changes.

Partner with Commercial and Safety teams to maintain and document clear, effective Standard Operating Procedures that support operational efficiency, consistency and compliance.

Lead initiatives that enhance service quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Use data analytics to inform strategic decisions on route optimisation, fleet capacity, and cost control.

Support the adoption of new technologies and automation solutions in transport planning and execution.

Skills & Experience

3+ years’ experience leading a national transport or logistics team.

5+ years’ experience in linehaul transport operations.

Strong knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, PBS, fleet management and safety regulations.

Proven ability to drive operational performance, manage budgets, and lead large‑scale transport operations.

Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
