enliteAI in Vienna is seeking an ML Research Engineer to develop the methods behind energy applications and to carry them from the literature to production-ready systems.

Distribution grids are operated near limits; you will infer state from measurements, forecast under uncertainty, and evaluate constraints rapidly while coordinating grid-edge resources. You will split time between research and engineering to deliver robust MVPs.

Qualifikationen

• Fluent English with strong communication skills to explain methods to ML colleagues and engineers.
• Deep hands-on ML/RL expertise with PyTorch; know when not to use them.
• Strong Python and software engineering practices for reproducible research.
• Ability to read papers and reproduce results, resolving unstated details.
• Rigour in experimental design: meaningful baselines and fair comparisons.
• Self-directed with the ability to work without a detailed roadmap.
• Willing to own full development cycle from literature review to MVP deployment.
• Degree in CS, energy informatics, electrical engineering, applied mathematics or equivalent.
• Valid work permit for Austria.

Aufgaben

• Develop ML/RL methods for grid operation problems and fast constraint evaluation.
• Review state-of-the-art approaches for industrial feasibility.
• Design experiments with baselines, ablations, and realistic data regimes.
• Contribute to Maze core components and extend to energy applications.
• Own model-facing data pipelines: transforms, conventions, features, and contracts.
• Take prototypes through to MVP and sustain post-deployment.
• Contribute to EU-funded projects with energy experts and ML engineers.
