Scaletech is expanding its data team in Vienna with a mid to senior Data Engineer role. You will design and build robust data pipelines, transform raw data into analytics-ready structures, and maintain performance and reliability as data volumes grow.

The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and client-focused solutions. You'll work in a hybrid setup, combining time in the Vienna office with remote work, and contribute to scalable data platforms using Snowflake, cloud

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and Python for data warehousing and cloud migrations.
• Hands-on Snowflake or similar cloud data platform (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of ETL, data modeling, and data governance.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English (German a plus).

Our growing data team needs a hand. Join as a Mid to Senior Data Engineer where you'll be focused on designing and building data pipelines, transforming raw data into structures analysts and business users can work with, and keeping it all performant, documented, and reliable as volumes grow.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop and optimise efficient data pipelines to streamline processing and integration across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Enhance data platforms and take ownership of optimizing performance and scalability within a data platform.
• Build and maintain data models optimised for analytical performance.
• Implement data quality frameworks forvalidation, testing, and monitoring.
• Establish best practices for data governance, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Collaborate closely with other data teams to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.

Required skills & experience:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with experience in data warehousing and cloud migration projects.
• Experience with Snowflake or a comparable platform as Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in English, German is a plus.

Nice to have's:

• Experience with machine learning.
• Experience building dashboards in Superset, Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Experience with financial data, SAP ERP systems, or the banking sector.
