As a (Senior) Data & AI Engineer you will design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and AI solutions that drive business value and support smarter decisions. You will act as a trusted technical advisor and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver data‑driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and data & AI solutions tailored to business needs, including governance structures and access control concepts.
- Design, implement and optimize robust data pipelines using modern frameworks such as Databricks or similar technologies.
- Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, including containerization and orchestration.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and sparring partner for our customers.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful data‑driven solutions.
- Monitor, optimize and ensure the performance, scalability and reliability of data workflows.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in data engineering and apply innovative approaches to solve complex challenges.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions, platforms, and data integration interfaces.
- Strong expertise in data modeling (e.g., dimensional modeling, normalization/denormalization).
- Proven experience with cloud‑based data platforms (Azure preferred, but AWS or GCP are also welcome) and tools like Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and architectural patterns such as Medallion.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with curiosity and openness to leveraging AI‑assisted solutions.
- Solid software engineering mindset, including experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- A consulting mindset with a customer‑centric approach.
- Fluency in German (C1 level) and English for stakeholder discussions.
- Passion for emerging technologies and a continuous learning mindset in the evolving data & AI landscape.
- High level of ownership, self‑motivation and the ability to quickly dive into new topics while constructively challenging the status quo.
- Valid certifications in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric (and MS Azure) are considered a strong advantage.

- Annual gross salary starting at €3.954 per month on a full‑time basis (IT collective agreement, ST1 Regelstufe), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Location
Austria (Vienna, Linz, Graz) and Germany (Berlin, Regensburg, or remote from other German locations).
