Bringing together applied science and industry, Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) conducts cutting‑edge research in Sensor Systems, Microsystems, Intelligent Wireless Systems, Power Electronics, and Embedded Systems. As part of our Photonic Systems research unit, the Applied Quantum Sensing Team is looking for a motivated Master’s student for an exciting Master Thesis focusing on quantum magnetometry.

Your Future Tasks Include
  • Experimental work in the Applied Quantum Sensing team
  • Design, assemble and test novel quantum magnetometers based on solid‑state spins in wide‑band gap semiconductors
  • Develop novel quantum control protocols
  • Implement software and hardware solutions

  • Solid academic background in quantum technologies, solid‑state physics, optics, or spectroscopy.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non‑university research (Research CA). For this position, we offer a monthly gross salary of EUR 1.929, paid 14 times a year.
