SEA.AI seeks an AI Vision Engineer in Vienna to advance perception on embedded hardware used in vessels. You will ensure trust in alerts by diagnosing data, model, algorithm, and metric issues, while improving the entire perception stack.

You will collaborate across hardware, product, and AI teams to push model quality, explore applications for VLMs, and optimize real-time performance on constrained devices. Fluent English required.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of AI/CV work beyond notebooks.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, maintainable code, code reviews.
• Track record of adapting proven open-source solutions to new domains.
• Solid grounding in computer vision geometry: camera models, calibration, multi-view geometry.
• Experience choosing the right CV architecture (CNNs, transformers, foundation models).
• Experience getting models onto embedded or constrained hardware with real-time budgets.
• Experience making ML reproducible via versioned data and disciplined workflows.
• Fluent communication in English; other languages a plus.

Aufgaben

• Maintain and push the limits of the computer vision pipeline (NNs, MOT, geometry, sensor fusion).
• Turn new data into better models, shipping improvements more often.
• Explore frontier models (VLMs) from labeling to internal tools and product ideas.
• Raise the team’s bar by connecting new problems to established techniques.
• Own technical planning and delivery for multi-sprint initiatives, managing risk and dependencies.
• Collaborate with hardware, product, and AI teams to keep the system in view.
