Jobbeschreibung

This is a rare opportunity to join one of Australia’s most capital-intensive and globally connected ASX listed businesses. With operations spanning multiple continents and a bold agenda to double EBITDA, this company is investing in its future and in the financial leadership that will shape it.

They operate in an asset-heavy, high-performance environment where operational scale meets commercial discipline. As the business continues to evolve, they’re refining how capital is planned, governed and deployed across the group. That’s where you come in...

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you are the commercial architect behind the group’s investment roadmap. This is a high-impact Accounting role for a CA or CPA qualified finance professional to secure a role that blends strategic planning, investment evaluation and financial governance into one global remit.

You’ll partner with stakeholders across finance, operations, strategy and treasury to lead the capital planning cycle, assess business cases and build the frameworks that shape how hundreds of millions are invested. From writing executive board papers to developing capital performance dashboards, you’ll be right at the centre of decision‑making, influencing outcomes long before the first dollar is spent.

Your Mandate
  • Lead capital governance processes, including coordination of the Global Capital Panel
  • Evaluate major investment proposals, assessing IRR, NPV, execution risk and strategic fit
  • Manage the capital budgeting and forecasting cycle in collaboration with FP&A and Strategy
  • Review and enhance DCF models used to assess capital projects and business cases
  • Provide insightful reporting and executive‑level commentary on capital performance
  • Partner with Treasury, Legal and business units to ensure alignment on funding and execution
  • Drive continuous improvement in investment governance, planning tools and dashboards
  • Prepare and present capital analysis to senior stakeholders including the CFO and CEO
  • Contribute to sustainability reporting (ASRS) and other group‑wide strategic finance initiatives
  • Support M&A integration, technical accounting queries, and cross‑functional project work as needed

This isn’t a reporting role; it’s a strategic finance seat with real business influence.

About You

You're a CA or CPA qualified finance professional with real commercial depth. Maybe you've come up through the FP&A or controllership path, or perhaps you’ve started in audit and grown into a strategic finance role. You know what good capital discipline looks like, and you know how to drive it across functions.

You're comfortable building frameworks from the ground up, engaging with senior stakeholders and distilling complexity into clear investment insight. You enjoy connecting the dots between operational priorities and financial outcomes. And you have the backbone to say no when it counts.

This is a role for someone technically strong, with a foundation built in structured finance environments and refined through commercial or group‑level roles. You bring strength in reporting, controls, process improvement and stakeholder alignment, and you're ready to take full ownership of the capital agenda.

Skills & Experience
  • Member to a professional accounting body
  • Background in public practice and/or mining, infrastructure, heavy industry or other capital‑intensive sectors
  • Financial modelling and business case development skills or aptitude for it
  • Confident communicator with experience influencing at senior levels
  • Comfortable working across functions and geographies in a large, matrixed environment
What’s On Offer
  • Global exposure and ELT visibility
  • A seat at the table in one of Australia’s most strategically important finance teams
  • The chance to build a legacy, not just a spreadsheet
