The role focuses on professional management of laboratory operations, material testing, and quality control across regional and project activities.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Materials Engineering, or comparable technical qualification.
• Several years of experience in managing or leading a construction materials laboratory.
• Strong expertise in material testing and quality control for soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and related materials.
• Sound knowledge of international standards and testing norms (DIN, BS, EN, ASTM, AASHTO).
• Experience in concrete and asphalt mix designs and destructive/non-destructive testing methods.
• Proven leadership skills and experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Aufgaben

• Manage laboratory operations, including material testing in central, regional, and site laboratories.
• Lead and develop laboratory technicians as well as concrete and asphalt batching plant operators.
• Define and implement sampling and testing plans in cooperation with quality management.
• Act as technical reference for concrete and asphalt mix designs across regional operations, yards, and projects.
• Ensure timely execution, evaluation, documentation, and reporting of laboratory and on-site tests.
• Maintain material engineering documentation, including test reports, procedures, inspection and test plans, and QMS records.
• Provide expert advice to management, project teams, production units, clients, consultants, and suppliers.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and availability of laboratory equipment as well as compliance with HSE requirements.
• Support the analysis and resolution of non-conformities related to construction materials.

Laboratory Manager (m/f/x) in Nigeria

Our client is a leading international construction and engineering company with a strong presence in Nigeria and extensive expertise in infrastructure and building projects.

To strengthen the Construction Materials Engineering Department, we are currently looking for an experienced and committed Manager Laboratory (m/f/x).

In this senior technical position, you will be responsible for the professional management of laboratory operations, material testing, and quality control processes across regional and project-related activities. You will ensure that construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates comply with project specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements. By providing sound technical recommendations, you will play a key role in safeguarding quality, structural integrity, safety, and efficiency across construction projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory operations, incl. material testing in central, regional, and site laboratories
• Lead and develop laboratory technicians as well as concrete and asphalt batching plant operators
• Define and implement sampling and testing plans in cooperation with quality management

Your Profile
