MERKUR Excellence in Raaba near Graz, Austria, specializes in game design and development of casino games. We invite a Junior Mathematician Gaming to join our Game Design Studio and contribute ideas to our unique product.

You will support Game Art Directors, develop basic mathematical models, implement and document game logic, and collaborate with the team to ensure accuracy and an engaging player experience. English skills are required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Mathematics or related field (combinatorics/probability/statistics).
• Internships or entry-level experience in math or game-related environments a plus.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles is beneficial.
• Good English; German skills are a plus.

Your responsibilities

• As our Junior Mathematician Gaming (m/f/d) you support Game Art Directors in designing and developing engaging game concepts and mechanics within a collaborative environment.
• Moreover, you assist in creating and adapting basic mathematical models that translate game design requirements into functional systems.
• In addition, you contribute to the development, implementation, and documentation of game logic across several projects at the same time.
• You work closely with experienced team members to ensure that mathematical models, gameplay design, and technical implementation are aligned.
• Last but not least, you participate in testing and validation processes to help ensure that calculations are correct and the overall player experience works as intended.

Your profile

• Degree in Mathematics or a related field, ideally with focus on combinatorics, probability, or statistics

• Initial experience (internships or entry-level roles) in a mathematical or game-related environment is a plus
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles is beneficial
• Good English skills (German is a plus)
• Strong analytical mindset with solid Excel skills and attention to detail
• Team-oriented, curious, and eager to learn in a creative environment
