Job Profile

The position provides analytical and operational support to the Director, Portfolio Management and (Senior) Investment Managers in monitoring private sector transactions and maintaining portfolio quality. The incumbent reviews project documentation, conducts financial and market analysis, and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures to facilitate informed decision-making and uphold institutional standards.

Duties And Responsibilities
Data collection & financial analysis
  • Review and analyse financial statements and projections, covenant compliance certificates, and reports submitted by clients
  • Prepare monitoring reports and ensure highest standards of data accuracy in internal systems
  • Conduct market research, analysing pricing comparables for syndicated transactions led by the OPEC Fund
  • Prepare internal reporting requirements and provide analytical inputs for Director
  • Review company, economic and financial information for new transactions, with a particular focus on financial institutions and insurance companies
  • Participate, as required, in portfolio monitoring of projects under operation, including joining (Senior) Investment Managers on loan negotiation or monitoring missions
Operational Support
  • Assist (Senior) Investment Managers in documentation processes, including negotiation of approved projects and handling waivers, amendments and consents (WACs)
  • Support (Senior) Investment Managers in internal coordination with Legal, Risk, Finance and other relevant departments throughout the project cycle
Data Management and Reporting
  • Enter disbursement requests and project data into the relevant management information systems
  • Maintain accurate project files in the Document Management System and ensure regular updates of syndication platforms (Dealogic and DebtDomain) and internal databases to store investor feedback and transaction details (e.g., pricing comparables)
  • Prepare internal reports and provide analytical inputs for the Director

Perform additional tasks related to the job function as assigned by the Director, Portfolio Management.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance or a (closely) related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in a private sector division or unit at a development finance organisation; a banking institution (including commercial or investment bank) or with a major consulting/accounting firm
  • Demonstrable experience in financial analysis within an international development finance institution, banking institution or consulting company is required
  • Experience in infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, services, or financial institutions is an advantage
  • Strong quantitative and numerical skills with experience interpreting financial information and developing and analysing financial models
  • Robust analytical skills regarding financial institution performance and activities
  • Sound conceptual understanding of finance and related areas, including project finance, corporate finance, and economics
  • Ability to work under time pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural environment
  • Fluent in English. Good working knowledge of Arabic, French or Spanish is an added advantage.
