Instructional Designer I (Job ID: 16234)
The Instructional Designer I plays a key role in developing high-quality learning solutions that support organizational goals. This position is responsible for planning, designing, and managing instructional design projects, creating dynamic learning materials, and ensuring training content remains accurate, engaging, and aligned with business needs. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, conduct needs assessments, and implement innovative instructional strategies to improve employee performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with trainers to review and interpret course evaluation results.
- Collaborate in planning and designing courses and curricula, ensuring accurate content and functional multimedia elements.
- Conduct needs assessments to provide customized training solutions and performance development support.
- Create and manage LMS learning activities, training assignments, and custom reports.
- Develop instructional and training materials using current technologies to enhance learning and reduce errors.
- Create and test course content, training games, graphics, and other technology-driven learning products.
- Design classroom, online, and independent learning programs that drive knowledge transfer and behavior change.
- Develop instructional strategies and training for business units and cross-company initiatives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs, products, and delivery methods.
- Participate in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables and elevated complexity.
- Recommend the most effective instructional approaches, including ILT, VILT, and self‑paced formats.
- Establish or adapt instructional design models tailored to project needs.
- Train internal teams on the use of classroom materials and virtual environments.
- Integrate feedback and assessment data to refine existing or new training content.
- Conduct presentations for diverse groups, including executive leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Communication, Behavioral Sciences, Training Development, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Strong ability to adapt to changing work demands.
- Excellent skills in organizing, compiling, and presenting information.
- Experience evaluating course and learning product effectiveness.
- Experience in researching, writing, and developing instructional content, graphics, or technology-based learning solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, and instructional tools.
- Working knowledge of developing training for products, processes, or skill-based learning.
- Strong leadership and influence skills.
- Proficiency in database and presentation software.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time‑management abilities.
- Effective research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to convert processes and requirements into clear, learner‑friendly content.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to assess training needs and research topics for course development.
