Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA) in Vienna seeks an Infrastructure Security Engineer to strengthen security across Linux, containers, cloud, and identity platforms. The role focuses on hardening, security monitoring, SIEM, vulnerability follow-up, and building operational security standards.

You will work across infrastructure and applications to implement practical security improvements and translate security requirements into concrete measures in a collaborative environment.

Join IMBA as an Infrastructure Security Engineer (Security / Hardening / SIEM) to drive security improvements across its infrastructure. The role works across platforms and services to strengthen the institute’s security posture, with a focus on hardening, security monitoring and SIEM, vulnerability follow-up, and the ongoing development of operational security standards. The role suits someone who likes working broadly across infrastructure, cloud, platforms, and services rather than being tied to a single technology stack.

Responsibilities

Your profile

• Experience with container, Kubernetes, or OpenShift security
• Familiarity with identity and access security

• Experience in a mixed on-prem and cloud environment
