Job summary

Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH in Linz seeks an Industrial Digitalization Engineer to develop sensor and automation solutions for metallurgical processes. You will own the product lifecycle from hardware selection to on-site support, and design software components using C++.

You will collaborate with engineering, data analytics, and process technology teams to create integrated digital solutions and contribute to new product development. Fluent German and English are required.

Qualifications

• Completed technical education (FH/University) in a related engineering field.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and C++.
• Practical experience with prototyping, automation, data processing, or related technical applications.
• Strong interest in combining software development with industrial applications and sensor technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to customers and stakeholders through documentation and training.
• Fluent German and English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop sensor and automation solutions for metallurgical processes.
• Own the complete product lifecycle from hardware selection to customer support at sites worldwide.
• Design and implement software components using object-oriented programming and C++.
• Support acquisition, processing, and utilization of sensor data for industrial applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, data analytics, and process technology teams to create integrated digital solutions.
• Contribute to development of new products and technologies within the Industrial Digitalization portfolio.
• Create technical documentation, manuals, and training materials; deliver customer training.
