Job summary

A11 is seeking a Director Technology & IT Operations to lead the tech, architecture and operations of a connected-fleet software company in Innsbruck. You will steer the platform's evolution, scale capabilities, and drive AI-powered services on top of live vehicle data.

You will build and guide a ~20-person team across software development, architecture, QA, UI/UX, IoT and IT operations. Fluent German and English are required, with on-site presence in Austria.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in technology / IT organisations of comparable scope.
• Genuine software-development background with depth to earn trust of engineers.
• Proven experience building and operating scalable digital platforms, cloud and IT operations.
• Comfortable navigating a larger group or corporate environment and cross-functional alignment.
• Leadership style built on vision, clarity, ownership and developing people.
• Fluent German and English required.
• Nice-to-have: hands-on IoT/telematics experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the tech strategy including technology, architecture, platform and operations.
• Lead a ~20-person team across software development, architecture, QA, UI/UX, IoT, platform and IT operations.
• Develop senior leads into autonomous teams and foster an empowerment-driven culture.
• Scale the platform to support 10x growth while controlling costs.
• Drive modernisation from legacy to new capabilities including AI-enabled services.
• Bridge to the group as the technology interface to product, group tech and commercial stakeholders.
• Own the budget, external partners and KPI reporting.
