Job summary

Erste Digital in Vienna seeks a Data Scientist to deliver GenAI solutions and predictive models across banking domains. You will design, implement and evaluate models, applying guardrails for reliability and compliance.

You will work across DS lifecycle, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and explore new AI advancements, adopting international project experience within Erste Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years practical Data Scientist experience.
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and ML algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with RAG patterns and LLM-based solutions.
• Proficient in Python, Spark and SQL; Databricks experience a plus.
• Understanding of banking domain basics.
• English full professional proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Data Science and Generative AI solutions with measurable value for internal clients across Retail, Corporate, Operations and more.
• Design, develop and evaluate predictive models and GenAI applications including LLMs and RAG-based solutions.
• Cover full DS lifecycle from problem understanding to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Apply evaluation methods and guardrails for accurate, explainable AI in a regulated banking environment.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Software Engineers and business partners to productionize prototypes.
• Work independently and in teams; involve domain experts to ensure high-quality results.
