Job summary

Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) offers fully funded PhD positions across multiple disciplines near Vienna. Candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree are welcome to apply for a PhD program that combines coursework and research rotations in a world-class environment.

All PhD students receive five-year contracts and full social security, with competitive salaries. The application deadline is January 8, 2027, for a September 2027 start date.

Qualifications

• Interdisciplinary training with strong research focus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within a graduate program.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across Astronomy, Biology, CS, Chemistry & Materials, Data Science, Earth Science, Mathematics, Neuroscience and Physics.
• Present findings at internal seminars and external conferences.
