BOKU University seeks to appoint a Full Professor of Structural Engineering with a start date of 1 October 2027. The position follows §98 of the 2002 Universities Act and is offered as an ongoing contract.
BOKU is the University of Sustainability and Life Sciences, with more than 10,000 students and over 3,000 staff. The Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure (LAWI) focuses on interdisciplinary and sustainable research and teaching, especially in resilient living environments and responsible resource use.
The Institute of Structural Engineering focuses on structural detailing and the practical implementation of sustainable infrastructure structures, such as bridges, tunnels, protective structures, shells, and containment structures, incorporating digital planning processes, artificial intelligence, and resource‑efficient, circular construction materials and methods.
The successful candidate will lead the design, modelling, and cross‑material structural design of engineering structures using innovative, conventional and recycled construction materials, and circular‑compatible connection and fastening systems.
