At the Institute of Electrodynamics, Microwave and Circuit Engineering in the Research Unit of Microwave and THz Electronics TU Wien is offering a position as university Assistant Prae-Doc (all genders) limited to 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: immediately. The focus of the THz‑Electronics group is the investigation of THz sources, detectors and systems, with a special emphasis on resonant‑tunnelling diodes (RTDs) and THz sources based on them. Tasks:
  • The position primarily focuses on research into THz RTD oscillators and detectors
  • Research in the field of THz Electronics
  • Writing and publishing scientific papers in top conferences and journals
  • Being involved in teaching, supervision of students, correction of exams, lab courses, etc.
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
  • MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar discipline
  • A strong foundation in high‑frequency electrical engineering or in the physics of electronic or optoelectronic devices is required
  • Prior experience with semiconductor technology, nano/micro‑fabrication, THz or high‑frequency measurements and electromagnetic simulations is an important advantage
  • Team player and advanced problem‑solving skills
  • Interest and enthusiasm in research
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage
