Jobbeschreibung
Executive Director - Organisational Excellence (Corporate Services)

Uniting Vic.Tas is the community services organisation supporting individuals, families and communities for over 100 years. With services spanning Victoria and Tasmania, from inner-city Melbourne to regional communities in East Gippsland, the Wimmera and across Tasmania - Uniting works alongside people of all ages and life stages. They empower children and young people to thrive, support people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges or addiction, stand with asylum seekers, and enable people with disability to live with dignity, independence and connection.

They celebrate diversity in all its forms and proudly provide inclusive, trauma-informed and community-centred support. Guided by their purpose - to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice - and their values of being imaginative, respectful, compassionate and bold, they continue to work towards a fairer, more just society.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director – Organisational Excellence is a pivotal member of the Uniting Leadership Team and serves as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO, Board and Committees. This role leads all enabling functions, including: Finance, People & Culture, ICT, Digital & AI, Quality, WHS and Performance & Innovation; ensuring they are integrated, future-focused and capable of supporting Uniting’s mission, 2030 Strategy and transformation agenda.

This executive will shape the next phase of organisational development: strengthening financial sustainability, embedding digital and AI capability, enhancing culture and safety frameworks, and ensuring quality systems remain robust, streamlined and accreditation-ready. With an ERP implementation underway, the role provides critical leadership to bring coherence, rigour and value to technology investment and adoption. Equally, Uniting’s strong, for-purpose culture must be protected and nurtured, requiring a leader who understands, respects and amplifies values-based behaviours.

This is a position of genuine breadth, impact and influence: stewarding culture, guiding commercial decisions, elevating capability, and enabling a contemporary, ethical and high‑performing organisation that delivers exceptional outcomes for the people and communities Uniting serves.

About You

You are a seasoned executive with demonstrated experience leading multiple corporate or enabling functions within a large, complex, values-driven organisation. You bring a mature, steady and strategic approach, coupled with the confidence to work closely with a Board and provide high-quality advice on financial sustainability, risk, performance and organisational transformation.

You combine commercial acumen with mission alignment: capable of shaping business cases, options, risk frameworks and market-aware strategies without needing to be a CFO by background. Your leadership style is thoughtful, inclusive and values-anchored, reinforcing the strength of Uniting’s culture while enabling the next stage of organisational growth and capability uplift.

You will bring contemporary understanding of digital strategy, data, technology, AI and systems transformation; experience navigating complex environments; and a track record of supporting CEOs to shape culture, strategy and organisational maturity. Experience in the public purpose, community services, health or broader for-purpose sector is strongly preferred, and an accomplished CEO from a smaller organisation could also be well‑suited.
