  • Ensure compliance with environmental protection requirements.

  • Ensure proper waste disposal and sustainable waste management.

For our Safety, Health & Environment department at our Heiligenkreuz site, we are looking for a

Environmental Manager
Your future responsibilities:
  • You will ensure compliance with all technical and organizational requirements as well as binding obligations in the area of environmental protection and advise site management on the implementation of measures for operational environmental protection.
  • You will determine, record, and prepare all environmentally relevant and necessary data and be responsible for the required documentation.
  • You will inform site management about environmentally relevant issues and, if necessary, organize the restoration of the proper regulatory status.
  • You will support the establishment and further development of the EMS and SURE system, implement its requirements, conduct internal audits, and play a leading role in external audits.
  • You will actively maintain contact with all external parties interested in environmental issues.
  • You ensure the proper disposal of all waste, the maintenance of the waste management concept, and the sustainable management of waste streams.
  • You support the development, introduction, and optimization of environmentally friendly, sustainable, and efficient production processes and procedures to avoid/reduce raw material and energy consumption and emissions.
Our expectations:
  • Completed academic education in process engineering, energy and environmental technology or similar, or completed technical education (HTL) with relevant professional experience in the environmental sector.
  • Completed certifications as an environmental manager, internal auditor, and waste management officer are an advantage.
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable position, preferably in an industrial company.
  • Experience with integrated management systems and knowledge of relevant legal regulations and standards.
  • Good IT skills, especially MS Office/365 and SAP.
  • Business fluent English skills.
  • Strong team spirit paired with a self-confident, assured, and assertive manner.
  • Solution-oriented, independent, and autonomous way of working.

For this position, you can expect a gross monthly salary of at least EUR 4,600 for a 38-hour week based on the collective agreement for the chemical industry. Your actual salary will be determined during the application process and will, of course, depend on your individual experience and qualifications—a significant overpayment is therefore possible.
