Klaxon Mobility, part of the Etac Group, is seeking an Embedded Engineer to develop embedded firmware for mobility products in central Europe. You will work closely with the R&D team in Arnoldstein, Austria, contributing from concept to production release and ensuring software interacts reliably with hardware.

• Create and maintain technical documentation related to embedded software and product functionality.

As an Embedded Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our product development team, helping to create reliable, safe and connected mobility solutions for wheelchair users around the world. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for ESP32-based mobility products using C/C++ and FreeRTOS

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of embedded systems from concept through production release

• Develop and integrate features related to vehicle control, user interfaces, connectivity, and other product functions

• Work with communication interfaces and protocols such as Modbus, CANbus, BLE, MQTT, and LTE

• Plan, execute, and document software and system testing, debugging, and validation activities

• Troubleshoot issues on prototypes and products, both in laboratory environments and in the field

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• Professional experience in embedded software development

• Strong programming skills in C and/or C++

• Hands-on experience developing firmware for microcontrollers or other embedded platforms

• Experience working with RTOS concepts, preferably FreeRTOS

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Meritorious experience includes:

• Product development within a highly regulated industry, especially medical devices

• Experience with ESP32 and the Espressif development ecosystem

• Experience with embedded communication protocols, particularly BLE and Modbus/CANbus

• Experience with motor control, vehicle control systems, or electric mobility products

• Experience collaborating with manufacturing or production teams

You will be part of our R&D team and collaborate closely with colleagues across Engineering, Production, and Quality. You will join a collaborative team of six talented engineers who share knowledge, support one another and enjoy solving technical challenges together. The team offers a combination of creativity, technical expertise and a genuine passion for innovation. You will report to the R&D Manager and be based at our office in Arnoldstein, Austria.
