Amentum is seeking an Operations Director for our Facilities Maintenance Operations. This position is contingent upon award of a contract to Amentum.

This role will manage a portfolio in Europe. The ideal candidate will be located in and have experience working across various European locations.

The Operations Director will plan, direct, control, and monitor the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and support programs to ensure successful completion of objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing multidisciplinary engineering analysis, supporting system design, development, and maintenance, and managing staff and support personnel for multiple contracts. The role also involves maintaining current operations and developing new business strategies.

  • Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures aligned with business goals, establishing short- and long-term operational and financial objectives.
  • Ensure understanding and effective application of policies and objectives across all units.
  • Review and approve operational plans, budgets, and expenditures submitted by managers.
  • Evaluate departmental performance and take remedial actions as needed.
  • Review contracts, budgets, and expenditure requests, approving those within authority and escalating others to top management with recommendations.
  • Assess subordinate managers' performance and approve compensation adjustments.
  • Ensure departmental organizational structures are efficient and adequately staffed.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Continuously improve operational processes for efficiency.
  • Report regularly to leadership on forecasts, risks, opportunities, and budgets.
  • Provide strategic leadership to achieve growth objectives.
  • Perform other relevant responsibilities as needed.

Additional Information:
Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test. A valid Driver’s License may be required. Sponsorship for US work authorization is not provided. Ability to obtain a security badge at the client’s location is necessary. The role involves various shifts, including weekends and alternative schedules.

  • 15+ years of experience in Business Services
  • 3+ years managing a contract with P&L responsibility exceeding $100 million/year with over 500 staff
  • Credibility with external stakeholders, especially with this customer base
  • Deep understanding of the customer’s operations, priorities, and organizational structure
  • Broad knowledge of the business environment supporting the customer’s services
  • Leadership style that is creative and innovative, capable of developing new business opportunities within prudent risk boundaries
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize projects
