Zusammenfassung

Kapsch Group in Mexico City is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the data layer for transactional systems and data warehouses. You will build scalable data services using SQL Server, C#, and Entity Framework, and drive ETL with SSIS.

Collaborate with BI teams to deliver dashboards in Power BI, tune performance, and ensure security and availability in high-transaction environments. English proficiency and a related degree are required.

To learn more about our solutions and innovations, visit our website here.A **Database Engineer** is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the data layer of software solutions, building robust and scalable data services that ensure performance, reliability, security, and availability across business-critical applications. **How you'll make an impact** * Design and maintain logical and physical database schemas for transactional systems and Data Warehouses, including star and snowflake models.* Develop and implement SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.* Build and maintain data repositories and services using C# and Entity Framework (Code First and Database First approaches).* Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and integration testing activities to ensure high-quality data solutions.* Design, develop, and automate ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other data integration tools.* Create and maintain OLAP and tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).* Develop, publish, and enhance reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI.* Optimize T-SQL queries, ETL pipelines, and analytical models to improve performance, scalability, and response times.* Partner closely with business analysts and stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.* Document database models, ETL workflows, coding standards, and BI user guides to support long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing. **What Makes You a Great Fit** * Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases, Data Warehouses, and Business Intelligence solutions, including Power BI.* Experience designing and implementing data services and data access layers that enable applications to efficiently query, insert, update, and manage information.* Knowledge of REST APIs and web services integration.* Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern coding practices, including platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex.* Experience working with GitLab and source control best practices.* Strong expertise in SQL development, query tuning, and performance optimization.* Hands-on experience designing databases for both transactional applications and analytical/reporting environments.* Proven ability to develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.* Experience building data repositories and services using C# and Entity Framework.* Experience supporting high-transaction, low-latency, and highly available environments.* Intermediate English proficiency, both written and verbal.* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field. **What We Offer** * An interesting full-time position within a global renowned family-owned company* An international working environment* Excellent working climate* Kapsch Days **Take the next step in your career with Kapsch.
