Zusammenfassung

Kapsch Trafficcom Transportation SA is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the data layer of our software solutions. You will build robust data services and ensure performance, reliability, and security across critical applications.

The role covers data modeling, ETL pipelines with SSIS, SQL Server objects, and BI reporting with Power BI. You will collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to define KPIs and create scalable data solutions in a global mobility

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, SE or related field.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases and Data Warehouses.
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with Power BI reporting.
• Experience REST APIs and web services integration.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with GitLab and source control.

• Design and maintain database schemas for transactional systems and Data Warehouses.

• Build data repositories and services using C# and Entity Framework.

• Create OLAP/SSAS models.

A Database Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the data layer of software solutions, building robust and scalable data services that ensure performance, reliability, security, and availability across business-critical applications.

How you'll make an impact

• Design and maintain logical and physical database schemas for transactional systems and Data Warehouses, including star and snowflake models.
• Develop and implement SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Build and maintain data repositories and services using C# and Entity Framework (Code First and Database First approaches).
• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and integration testing activities to ensure high-quality data solutions.
• Design, develop, and automate ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other data integration tools.
• Create and maintain OLAP and tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Develop, publish, and enhance reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI.
• Optimize T-SQL queries, ETL pipelines, and analytical models to improve performance, scalability, and response times.
• Partner closely with business analysts and stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
• Document database models, ETL workflows, coding standards, and BI user guides to support long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases, Data Warehouses, and Business Intelligence solutions, including Power BI.
• Experience designing and implementing data services and data access layers that enable applications to efficiently query, insert, update, and manage information.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and web services integration.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern coding practices, including platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex.
• Experience working with GitLab and source control best practices.
• Strong expertise in SQL development, query tuning, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience designing databases for both transactional applications and analytical/reporting environments.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Experience building data repositories and services using C# and Entity Framework.
• Experience supporting high-transaction, low-latency, and highly available environments.
• Intermediate English proficiency, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
