The Centre’s mission is to undertake research that is translated into effective clinical management, ensuring patients receive the best evidence-based care available.

We’re seeking a collaborative and technically skilled professional to join our Data team. This role combines data management and analysis, business systems expertise and stakeholder engagement to support important health research initiatives.

As a Data and Business Analyst you will be playing a crucial part in a large project to develop infrastructure that will enable data integration, customised data access and application of machine‑learning and artificial intelligence.

Assisting the project team, you will work with consumers, researchers and healthcare professionals throughout the project to ensure that the delivered solution meets the needs of the different user groups.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the acquisition, curation and provision of datasets.
  • Implementing standardised data collection and management protocols.
  • Visualising and interpreting data to support research outcomes.
  • Engaging with end‑users to determine functional requirements and create user stories.
  • Creating test plans and conducting product testing.
  • Navigating approval processes for health data use and system implementation.

Conveniently located within Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this 0.6‑0.8 FTE opportunity will be offered for an initial 12 months.

About You

If you have a background in data and IT business analysis and a genuine interest in using data more effectively to improve health outcomes, and you pride yourself on your strong attention to detail, then we want to hear from you!

The ideal applicant for this role will have an undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science, bioinformatics, data analytics or a related field.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with databases and data systems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving capabilities.
