Your new adventure

As Cost and Value Engineering Manager, you will drive the optimization of cost structures and the enhancement of customer value across all powertrain systems and components. By applying structured methodologies throughout the product lifecycle, you will ensure products achieve the optimal balance of cost, performance, safety, quality, and sustainability. Working closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and finance teams, you will lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen competitiveness and support long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and analyze cost drivers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) workshops to generate cost-saving and value-enhancing ideas.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost models for components and systems.
  • Benchmark competitor products, technologies, and manufacturing practices to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure cost transparency and support technical and commercial negotiations.
  • Evaluate alternative materials and manufacturing processes with lower environmental impact.
  • Support lifecycle assessments (LCA) and integrate eco-design principles into product development.
  • Track and report cost and CO2e savings achieved through engineering and sourcing initiatives.
  • Align cost and value engineering activities with corporate sustainability and climate targets.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior management.
Your Experiences And Skills
  • University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in cost and/or value engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain management, performance management, procurement, or operations within an international environment.
  • Solid professional background in procurement, ideally complemented by technical expertise.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence strategic decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in cost modeling and benchmarking.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainability.

The minimum salary for this position is EUR 81 261,04 gross/year, flexitime, in accordance with the collective agreement for the metal industry. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, we offer an attractive and performance-related salary with corresponding overpayment.
