A water utility company in Austria is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead and oversee commissioning activities for growth projects. The role involves developing schedules, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards. Ideal candidates will have a tertiary qualification in engineering and experience in project management within large-scale infrastructure. The Commissioning Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination and execution of commissioning activities for SA Water Growth Projects.
This position is responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive commissioning schedules, managing resources, and ensuring accountability across all project phases. A strong focus is placed on safety, environmental, technical and regulatory integrity by maintaining compliance with standards and driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
The role also involves extensive stakeholder engagement to align contractors and multidisciplinary teams toward delivering safe, reliable and high-quality water infrastructure outcomes. Additionally, the Commissioning Manager supports SA Water’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction by ensuring all commissioned systems meet functional, quality and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate for the Commissioning Manager role will bring strong experience in leading complex commissioning and project management activities within large-scale infrastructure or technical environments. They will have proven ability to plan, coordinate and deliver multiple workstreams effectively while managing competing priorities and tight schedules. With a sound understanding of engineering, safety and regulatory requirements, they will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem‑solving and risk management. The ideal person will be an effective communicator and collaborator, capable of building strong relationships across contractors, stakeholders, and the wider organisation.
They will hold a tertiary qualification in engineering or possess relevant equivalent experience, supported by a solid understanding of technical, safety and regulatory requirements.
