A statutory authority in Austria is seeking a Chief Technology and Information Officer to lead its technology strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in technology leadership, cybersecurity, and change management. This role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to shape technology practices within the organization, fostering a positive impact on the community.
The Residential Tenancies Authority is the Queensland Government statutory body responsible for administering the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008, working with tenants, property managers and owners, community organisations and industry stakeholders to support a fair, transparent rental sector. The RTA provides tenancy information and support, manages rental bonds, delivers dispute resolution, compliance and enforcement services and undertakes education and sector research to help make renting work for everyone in Queensland. With a strong focus on accessible, customer‑centred services, the RTA plays a visible role in helping Queenslanders understand their rights and responsibilities before, during and at the end of a tenancy.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Technology and Information Officer leads the RTA’s technology, data, security and change services, drawing on both internal capability and external partners. The role sets and delivers the Technology and Information Strategy and associated roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the RTA’s strategic plan, corporate objectives and regulatory obligations. As CTIO, you will be accountable for the secure, efficient and effective operation of the RTA’s information and technology environment, including core business systems, infrastructure, data platforms and information management practices. You will oversee cybersecurity, business continuity and resilience, business intelligence and analytics and the governance frameworks that underpin risk, compliance and value‑for‑money investment across the technology portfolio. The role provides high‑level strategic analysis and advice to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board and Minister on information technology, data and security matters and represents the RTA at internal and external forums. You will lead enterprise change practices for projects and continuous improvement, ensuring that business analysis, solution design, delivery and transition‑to‑operations are well‑governed and tightly connected to organisational priorities and customer outcomes.
Key areas of focus include:
You are a contemporary technology and information leader who brings both strategic depth and operational discipline, able to translate complex regulatory, policy and customer needs into clear technology, data and security priorities. You are comfortable working at CEO, Board and Ministerial levels while staying close enough to delivery to understand risks, trade‑offs and implementation realities. You foster strong relationships across business functions, anticipate emerging issues through data and feedback whilst leading change in a way that builds confidence and capability rather than disruption. You are committed to public value and customer outcomes and you are motivated by the opportunity to use technology, data and information governance to support a fair rental market and better experiences for Queenslanders.
You will likely bring:
This role offers a base salary of $217,770 - $235,325 per year (includes superannuable salary and vehicle allowance) + super, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The RTA is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community it serves and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people of all genders and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Applications close: Midnight, Tuesday 9 December 2025
