About the role
The 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation Limited is seeking a committed, capable and reliable caretaker couple to reside on-site and provide comprehensive property, grounds maintenance and domestic duties at our brand new Retreat located in a rural environment in Limestone Ridges, SE Queensland. The facility, having 15 buildings covering approximately 16 acres, is located within 15 minutes drive of Ipswich and is a one hour drive from Brisbane Airport.
This opportunity is a full-time position for one person and a part-time position for the other, and offers accommodation in a brand new home on site as part of the compensation package.
What you'll be doing
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the property, facilities, and grounds, including gardening, cleaning, repairs, and handyman tasks.
Ensure the property is secure, well‑presented, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
Liaise with, and oversee contractors and tradesmen when required.
Carry out housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, kitchen duties, and inventory management, as and when required.
Work with management in coordinating and supervising volunteers who assist with tasks on site from time to time.
Be conscious and thoughtful of the demographic that will be the primary guests at the Retreat.
Work closely and effectively with the Foundation's General Manager, and Managing Director (Volunteer).
What we're looking for
Strong practical and handyman skills with the ability and capacity to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including the use of tools and machinery.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work with a willingness to take on a diverse range of responsibilities and tasks, some of which may be spread over a wide range of hours.
A strong work ethic, and complete trust worthiness.
Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required for this position.
An affection for both living in a rural environment, and the contribution to our Communities and Nation by first responder and military personnel.
