Role Description

Position: Non-Executive Director / Board Member (Property Development & Construction)

Location: Wanneroo, Western Australia

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the organisation’s long‑term strategy through property, asset, and capital development insights that support the board’s strategic decisions.
  • Project Governance: Provide oversight of major capital and redevelopment projects, ensuring effective governance, financial control, and delivery within scope, time, and budget.
  • Design and Construction Oversight: Offer guidance on design principles, procurement strategies, and construction methodologies that reflect best practice, sustainability, and resident‑centred outcomes.
  • Risk and Compliance: Support strong governance around construction contracts and project risk management.
  • Asset Management: Contribute to long‑term asset planning, lifecycle management, and facility maintenance strategies to ensure quality and sustainability of Elderbloom’s built environment.
Commitment
  • Attend up to 6 Board meetings per year.
  • Attend monthly Investment & Development Committee meetings.
  • Prepare for meetings by reviewing materials and reports.
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge of Aged Care regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Industry Expertise: Background in property development, construction, project management, architecture, or engineering.
  • Executive Leadership: Senior experience overseeing large‑scale capital or redevelopment projects with experience in health, aged care, or community sectors highly regarded.
  • Strategic and Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of feasibility analysis, project financing, and lifecycle asset management.
  • Governance Experience: Familiarity with governance accountabilities in the not‑for‑profit sector; previous board experience desirable but not essential.
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications; AICD qualification highly regarded.
  • Impact: Play a key role in guiding Elderbloom’s next phase of growth and capital development.
