Associate Director - Electrical Building Services

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Associate Director to join a highly regarded building services consultancy in Perth. This role is ideal for a senior engineer or team leader ready to step into an influential position driving technical excellence, project delivery, and growth across a diverse portfolio of commercial, mixed-use, retail, education, health and precinct-scale developments.

About the Role

As the Associate Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the building services team—providing strategic direction, overseeing multi-disciplinary project delivery, mentoring engineers, and maintaining strong client relationships. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape the future of the business in Western Australia, ensuring high-quality outcomes and continued market growth.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead and inspire a team of building services engineers across multiple disciplines.
  • Contribute to business strategy, operational planning and technical leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement, industry best practice and quality assurance.
Project Delivery
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex building services projects.
  • Provide technical guidance, design oversight and risk management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate with architects, builders, developers and external stakeholders.
Client Management & Business Development
  • Act as a key client interface, strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones.
  • Identify opportunities for new work and contribute to proposals, bids and presentations.
  • Represent the business at industry events, meetings and project workshops.
Team Development
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a strong team culture.
  • Encourage skills development, training and performance enhancement.
  • Support recruitment, workforce planning and resource allocation.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in building services engineering.
  • Chartered status (or working towards) highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC and local authority requirements.
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and support organisational growth.
