Assistant Professor in Translational Intensive Care Medicine with a focus on Precision Medicine
according to § 99 (5) University Law 2002 (UG) is announced.

The Medical University of Vienna is one of Europe’s premiere institutions for biomedical and clinical research. We are looking for a highly qualified scientist in the field of of anaesthesia and intensive care medicine with enthusiasm for inter- and multidisciplinary research, and commitment to teaching.

The candidate is expected to have outstanding expertise in intensive care medicine with a focus on translational, especially precision medicine, to strengthen, expand, and cross-link the research strategies within the perioperative field with a focus on intensive care medicine in the Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Medicine. Experiences include investigating the individual biological and molecular mechanisms underlying critical illness and perioperative care, identifying biomarkers for risk stratification and outcome prediction, developing individualised therapy and monitoring strategies, and integrating precision medicine approaches into clinical treatment pathways. Translational and interdisciplinary competence is essential for collaboration with the various departments of the Center of Perioperative Medicine.

We offer:

The successful candidate will be offered a tenure-track Assistant Professor position (according to § 99 (5) Austrian University Law 2002) for a maximum duration of six years. If, during this time, the successful candidate meets the tenure criteria stipulated in the qualification agreement, he:she will be promoted to tenured Associate Professor. The gross salary for this position is based on the collective agreement for university employees (§49, A2) and may be adjusted depending on previous work experience.
