Brady Bunch Early Learning Centre is an established, reputable early education service in Delacombe, Ballarat. We are seeking a motivated, professional and experienced Assistant Director (2IC) to join our leadership team and work closely with the Centre Director to strengthen our service as we continue to grow.

This role suits an experienced Assistant Director looking for a new challenge, or a strong senior educator ready to step confidently into a leadership position with the support of an experienced management team.

About the Role

As Assistant Director, you will work side-by-side with the Centre Director to support the daily operations of the service while actively leading practice, compliance and team culture.

In this role, ideally you will also step into the responsibilities of the Educational Leader, guiding pedagogical direction, reflective practice, and ongoing quality improvement across the centre.

You will also work in ratio on the floor when required, providing hands‑on support to ensure smooth operations, strong team consistency and continued delivery of high‑quality practice.

You Will:

Support the planning and delivery of high‑quality, inclusive programs

Lead educators with professionalism, consistency and warm guidance

Champion pedagogy, reflective practice and curriculum development in the role of Educational Leader

Support observations, documentation, planning cycles and program evaluation

Uphold the NQF, regulations, centre philosophy and best practice

Build strong, trusting relationships with families and the wider community

Step into Centre Director responsibilities during temporary absences

Assist with rostering, administration, OH&S, compliance and general operations

Mentor staff, build capability, and support a positive, accountable team culture

Provide in‑ratio support on the floor where needed to ensure smooth, steady service operations

What You Bring

Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education

Strong knowledge of the NQF, VEYLF and regulatory requirements

Confidence to lead pedagogy and mentor educators

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills

Strong organisational, administrative and time‑management capability

Ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent or challenging situations

Commitment to child safety, inclusion, and high‑quality practice
