Water Stewardship Lead
To help fulfill this mission, we are looking for a Water Stewardship Lead to join the Revenue team at Waterplan. You'll manage the sales pipeline by identifying and nurturing clients, guiding them through the sales process, and helping them meet and exceed sales targets through collaboration and strategic sales tactics. You will work in a fully remote distributed team at a science‑oriented company across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Business Development & Client Engagement: Proactively identify corporate client opportunities and expand Waterplan’s global adoption.
- Sales Support and Strategy: Contribute to creating the sales playbook and sharing market insights with the team.
- Events and Networking: Participate in events and conferences, connecting with potential leads and existing clients.
- Mission Understanding: Understand and embody our organization’s and clients’ water‑centric goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage stakeholders to garner support for conservation and restoration efforts.
- Expertise in Water Topics: Demonstrate expertise in water‑related areas, including watersheds, natural‑based solutions, volumetric water benefits, etc.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest advancements in water management and conservation practices.
- Collaboration & Partnership: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, private companies, and governmental agencies.
- Effective Communication: Create impactful presentations, reports, and proposals for fundraising and advocacy.
- Quick Learning & Results: Rapidly grasp new concepts and methodologies for water conservation and restoration.
- Exhibit dedication to achieving measurable outcomes in challenging environmental projects.
- Cross‑Disciplinary Collaboration: Recognize the need to involve domain experts when required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Water Resources, Ecology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience and a passion for water conservation, restoration, and sustainable water management.
- Strong network and prior engagement with stakeholders in the water sector, including NGOs, private companies, government entities, and water authorities.
- Demonstrated track record of successful project management and implementation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and meetings.
