JOB DESCRIPTION

The Latin America and Canada (LAC) Chief Data Office is a new business centric team, part of the wider Corporate & Investment Banking Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) but with a firm‑wide mandate for the LAC region. The LAC Chief Data Officer is responsible for the regional implementation and execution of the firm’s data governance and strategy, ensuring that global firm‑wide and/or Corporate & Investment Banking data policies, standards, and procedures are applied consistently across the regional businesses, legal entities and countries.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the Chief Data Office executives in defining and executing on global and local data strategy.
  • Lead and own specific data workstreams (i.e. privacy, data storage, etc.) in ensuring compliance with global firm‑wide policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop reporting/metrics to support governance meetings and managers with supervisory responsibilities, e.g., Data Protection Officers.
  • Lead and execute specific projects required by local regulatory requirements.
  • Promote awareness of data culture across all lines of business, conduct data governance training and communication strategy/campaign.
  • Foster strong partnership with Business Managers, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Technology teams.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • 8–10 years of experience in operations/controls/technology/data related fields in a leading financial institution.
  • Experience interacting with groups from different countries in the Latin America Region.
  • Good understanding of banking products and overall regulatory landscape of the Latin America Region.
  • Good understanding of data flows, and data controls.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills (Spanish and English), along with the ability to tailor a message to various levels of management.
  • Strong aptitude to work with a wide range of lines of business and functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (including PitchPro).
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, flexible and capable of engaging various functions, locations, and businesses.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Knowledge in technology and data‑related fields.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese language.
