Job summary

Techwarely LLC seeks a Senior DevOps/SRE to design, deploy, and optimize a scalable, multi-tenant Azure platform and GitOps pipelines. You will drive infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Terraform via HCP Terraform Cloud, operate AKS workloads, and push cost and reliability improvements.

You will lead CI/CD automation with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, configure Kong gateways, and modernize legacy systems into event-driven microservices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.

Responsibilities

Summary

We are seeking a Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize our scalable, multi-tenant Azure platform and its GitOps automation pipelines. In this role, you will drive infrastructure-as-code initiatives on HCP Terraform, operate AKS-based Kubernetes workloads, optimize Azure cost and reliability, and pioneer the integration of generative AI tools (Claude Code and GitHub Copilot) into our engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Design, provision, and maintain secure, scalable Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform via HCP Terraform Cloud). Operate a multi-tenant internal developer platform (Purple Platform) and manage containerized workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• GitOps & Deployment Automation: Build and maintain declarative deployments with Kustomize and Flux, managing AppDeployment CRDs, mesh egress, and gateway configuration across dev/stg/prd zones.
• CI/CD & Pipeline Automation: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps to drive build and deployment efficiency.
• API Gateway & Service Mesh: Configure and operate Kong gateways (OIDC, OAS validation, plugins) and service-mesh traffic permissions (MeshTrafficPermissions / Kyverno-generated MTP).
• Architecture Modernization: Collaborate with engineering teams to transition legacy (Classic) systems into event-driven microservices using Azure Service Bus and Event Hub.
• AI-Assisted DevOps Engineering: Leverage Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to accelerate shell/PowerShell scripting, generate Terraform modules, draft pipeline and Kustomize configs, diagnose deployment logs, and automate routine operational tasks.
• Cost & Performance Optimization: Audit Azure environments to reduce operational cost, right-size AKS node pools and databases (SQL Server, MongoDB Atlas, Oracle), and meet reliability/uptime targets.
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting with OpenTelemetry, Serilog, Azure Monitor, and Dynatrace to maintain high platform availability.

Required Technical Experience

• Cloud Platform: Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure: AKS, Entra ID (Azure AD OIDC), Azure Key Vault (External Secrets), Service Bus, Event Hub, Azure Storage, and Azure Monitor. (AWS experience a plus.)
• Infrastructure as Code: Advanced proficiency with Terraform and HCP Terraform Cloud; policy-as-code with OPA/Rego and CUE schema validation.
• Containers & Orchestration: Solid hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Kustomize, and Flux (GitOps).
• API Gateway / Mesh: Practical experience with Kong and Kubernetes service-mesh traffic policy.
• CI/CD & Automation: Strong expertise with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Git, and Renovate-driven dependency automation.
• Software Development Background: Solid foundation in C# / .NET Core, Node.js / TypeScript (NestJS, React), and Python for tooling/automation.
• Databases: Practical experience configuring and optimizing MS SQL Server, MongoDB Atlas, and Oracle; PostgreSQL a plus.
• AI & Automation Requirements | Generative AI Workflow Integration: Active hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) within SRE/DevOps routines.
• Use Cases: Generating Terraform modules and Kustomize overlays, drafting GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps pipeline config, diagnosing AKS/Flux/Kong deployment logs, authoring reusable agent skills, and automating routine platform operations.
