We are seeking an exceptional Senior Full-Stack or Principal Frontend Engineer to architect and lead development of a modern psychometric assessment platform for the healthcare sector. This role requires deep frontend expertise combined with domain-specific language design experience and proven success building graph-based workflow systems in regulated healthcare environments.
You will be the technical lead responsible for designing a YAML-driven DSL that enables clinicians and administrators to define complex psychometric assessments as composable, version-controlled artifacts, and for building the visual editors and form builders that operationalize this DSL into production grade user experiences.
What You’ll Build Assessment DSL & Configuration Engine
- Design and implement a YAML-based domain-specific language for psychometric assessment definitions, including question schemas, scoring formulas, branching logic, and multi-language localization
- Build an Admin UI with visual editor enabling non-technical users to compose assessments via drag-and-drop form builders while maintaining DSL compliance
- Architect a graph-based assessment flow engine that interprets DSL definitions to dynamically render patient-facing forms with conditional logic, skip patterns, and adaptive testing capabilities
Healthcare Frontend Applications
- Lead development of three React/TypeScript single-page applications (Admin UX, Clinical UX, Patient UX) hosted on Azure Static Web Apps
- Implement Node.js Backend-for-Frontend pattern for admin tools, and Python BFF for clinical/patient interfaces to optimize API interactions
- Design stateful, observable UI workflows with real-time progress tracking, session management via Azure Redis Cache, and seamless integration with asynchronous scoring/enrichment pipelines
Graph Network Representations
- Model psychometric assessment suites as directed acyclic graphs where nodes represent questions/assessments and edges represent dependencies, branching rules, and scoring pathways
- Build visualization tools for administrators to understand assessment topology, identify bottlenecks, and validate flow logic before deployment
- Implement event-driven state machines that coordinate multi-step patient workflows across distributed backend microservices
Required Qualifications Domain-Specific Language Expertise
- 3+ years designing and implementing DSLs (preferably YAML/JSON-based) for configuration-driven systems such as workflow engines, form builders, or rules engines
- Proven ability to balance expressiveness (supporting complex healthcare logic) with simplicity (enabling non-engineers to author content)
- Experience with schema validation, versioning strategies, and automated migration tooling for DSL evolution
Graph & Workflow Systems
- Deep understanding of graph data structures, particularly directed acyclic graphs for modeling stateful processes
- Hands-on experience building workflow orchestration UIs (e.g., assessment builders, approval flows, decision trees) with visual graph editors
- Familiarity with state machine patterns and event-driven architectures for coordinating long-running, multi-step processes
- 5+ years building production healthcare applications with strict requirements for HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Experience with clinical decision support tools, patient-facing portals, or EHR/EMR integrations
- Understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR preferred) and regulatory constraints in SaaS medical software
- Expert-level proficiency in React, TypeScript, Vite, and modern frontend build tooling
- Strong command of state management (React Context, Zustand, or similar), form validation (React Hook Form, Zod), and API integration patterns
- Experience building Azure Static Web Apps with Entra ID (Azure AD) authentication and role-based access control
Backend Integration & Systems Thinking
- Comfortable working with Python and Node.js backend services, including designing BFF APIs optimized for frontend consumption
- Familiarity with Azure ecosystem: Container Apps, Redis Cache, Azure SQL, CI/CD via Azure DevOps
- Understanding of async/event-driven architectures with message queues, webhooks, and long-running background jobs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with psychometric assessment platforms (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, PTSD screeners) or mental health SaaS products
- Contributions to open-source DSL projects or workflow orchestration libraries
- Background in data visualization libraries (D3.js, Cytoscape.js, React Flow) for rendering graph networks
- Exposure to AI-enhanced UIs integrating LLM-powered features (translation, anomaly detection, explainability)
- Previous work with Azure Cognitive Services (Document Intelligence) or RPA tools (Power Automate)
