Job summary

Motorola Solutions Argentina is seeking a Field Engineer to maintain and operate communications and video surveillance systems onsite in Buenos Aires. You will work within SLAs to ensure service quality across fixed video platforms, RF and voice networks.

Responsibilities include site inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting RF interference, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with Motorola R56 standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics.
• 4-5+ years of experience in telecommunications, IT, or fixed video systems.
• English level at least B1.
• Basic OS administration (Windows/Linux).
• Knowledge of Server Management (ESXi, Vsphere).
• Networking and fixed video platforms plus VMS (RSTP, RTMP, SRT).
• Technical knowledge of RF, HF, LMR, microwave, or AC/DC power.

Responsibilities

• Provide local support to the customer (including 24/7 on-call in some cases).
• Escalate and follow up on factory incidents.
• HF component fault detection and RF issue analysis.
• Participate in a call-out rotation and site inspections.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance with trend analysis and documentation.
• Operate and troubleshoot remote site infrastructure and capacity changes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for supplemental support.
• Ensure system installations comply with Motorola R56 standards.
• Provide technical consultations for System Integration Centers and customers.

Job Description

As members of the post-sales team in the Services organization, Field Engineers focus on the operation and maintenance of communications and video surveillance systems. Utilizing Motorola's broad portfolio, the team works within established SLAs to ensure consistent service for our clientele.

Key responsibilities include the upkeep of a comprehensive video surveillance network, which encompasses fixed cameras, support infrastructure, transport networks, and virtual machines. This position necessitates proficiency in video storage solutions and a thorough understanding of standard industry protocols.

Furthermore, the role involves managing a voice communications network, requiring technical expertise in RF. The engineer must be capable of diagnosing power stage defects, addressing RF interference, and calibrating passive components like cavity combiners or filters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide local support to the customer (in some cases 24/7 on call Service support)
• Escalate and follow up on factory incidents
• HF component fault detection
• Participate in a call-out rotation
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.
• Perform site inspections and functional checks
• Operate and troubleshoot remote sites infrastructure
• Capacity upgrades/downgrades systems assets
• Coordinate with subcontractors for supplemental support
• Maintain the installation of the system in compliance with Motorola R56 Standard and Guideline
• Provides technical support and consultations for / with the System Integration Centers and clarification of technical issues with the Customer, third parties and within Motorola Solutions.

Basic Requirements

• Onsite / Buenos Aires, Argentina.
• Engineering Degree (Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics).
• 4-5+ years of experience in telecommunications, IT, or fixed video systems
• English Level: B1 or above
• Basic OS administration (Windows/Linux)
• Knowledge on Server Management (ESXi, Vsphere)
• Knowledge on Networking
• Familiarity with fixed video platforms and VMS (RSTP, RTMP, SRT)
• Technical knowledge of RF, HF, LMR (P25/TETRA/DMR), microwave systems, or AC/DC power.
• Autonomy and Empowerment to take increasing responsibilities.
