Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead cloud infrastructure design, development, and scaling with a strong emphasis on automation and security. You’ll drive CI/CD pipelines, monitor system health, and collaborate across global teams to improve reliability and developer productivity.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, mentoring peers and shaping DevOps practices while ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant operations across our cloud estates.

Formación

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infra experience in production systems.
• Cloud platforms AWS or Azure with strong compute/network skills.
• Advanced Docker and Kubernetes proficiency, including Operators.
• Scripting experience in Python/Go/Bash for automation.
• Proficient with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Harness).
• Infrastructure-as-Code tooling like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Crossplane.
• Strong networking, cloud security, and observability fundamentals.
• Fluency in Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Architect, implement, and manage robust cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).

• Develop and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.
• Collaborate with development and operations to ensure performance and reliability.
• Automate provisioning and configuration with IaC tools.
• Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting for health and incidents.
• Troubleshoot issues across stack including infra, network, and app runtimes.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of our cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and operational excellence. In this role, you'll be a key contributor throughout the entire software development lifecycle, driving initiatives that improve system reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. You will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where adaptability and collaboration are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and manage robust cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS and Azure, following industry best practices.
• Design and build Kubernetes-based infrastructure and applications, including the development of custom operators to manage complex workloads and Helm applications to deploy our services.
• Develop and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Partner closely with development and operations teams to ensure applications are performant, scalable, and reliable in production environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools and configuration management systems.
• Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain system health and quickly resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot issues across the full stack—from infrastructure and networking to deployment and application runtime.
• Continuously assess and enhance DevOps workflows to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enable faster delivery cycles.
• Champion security best practices and ensure infrastructure and processes comply with organizational and industry standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge to elevate the DevOps culture within the team.
• Proactively innovate and improve beyond standard operational tasks by shaping how systems and operations are designed and executed.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production incidents, ensuring timely triage and resolution while contributing to post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.

What You Bring to the Team

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles, with a proven track record of building and supporting production-grade systems.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and familiarity with core services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.
• Advanced experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes, with experience developing Kubernetes Operators.
• Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins/CloudBees, GitLab CI/CD, Harness, or CircleCI, and hands-on experience automating deployment workflows.
• Solid understanding of networking, cloud security, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane).
• Experience with observability tools like Coralogix, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify root causes and drive resolution across diverse systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams in a collaborative, agile environment.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English, with outstanding written and verbal communication in both languages.
